Internet of Things (IoT) security architecture developed by the ENTRUST project was presented on November 5th, 2024 at the Saudi Aramco Cybersecurity Chair.
Based at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, the chair aims to promote cybersecurity in the region and beyond.
The chair recently hosted a webinar titled “Securing IoT Lifecycle and its impact on the continuum” by Prof. Antonio Skarmeta of the University of Murcia (UMU), a partner in the ENTRUST project. Specifically, in the context of ENTRUST UMU works on the dynamic certification of connected medical devices (CMDs) based on the definition of security profiles and their enforcement within the lifecycle of CMDs.
The webinar was chiefly aimed at postgraduate students in the field of IoT security. During his talk, Prof. Skarmeta presented ENTRUST architecture as an example of security lifecycle management in the context of CMDs. This is an area where security vulnerabilities could have a particularly high impact by compromising patient health and privacy, or the broader security of hospitals and other large health care organisations.
