Three EU-funded projects - ENTRUST, NEMECYS and MedSecurance co-organised the public workshop ‘Towards Addressing Challenges in Cyber Risk Management – Case Studies on the Internet of Medical Things’.
The event took place on 29 April 2025, from 10:00 to 15:00, at Møterom Forum, Forskningsparken – Oslo Science Park, Oslo.
As part of this collaboration, ENTRUST contributed its expertise in connected medical devices (CMDs) and helped bring together professionals from cybersecurity, healthcare, and risk management to examine the evolving challenges of securing the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT).
SINTEF presented a demo on the ENTRUST Digital Twin, showcasing our way of virtually representing and monitoring various topologies of medical devices, thus creating controlled emulated environments for attack simulations. The highlight of our presentation, and connecting to the twin, was the AI-based Misbehaviour Detection solution, which utilises unsupervised learning to model normal device behaviour and can be used to detect attack-specific anomalies by mapping unseen data points to deviation scores.

Workshop Focus Areas
The programme included interactive discussions, live demonstrations, and networking opportunities, structured around three topics:
Cyber Risk Management in Practice – Exploring regulatory compliance, risk assessment challenges, and strategies for more effective communication with decision-makers.
Balancing Security, Privacy, and Usability – Discussing the trade-offs between cybersecurity, safety, and user experience.
Cyber Risk Management in IoMT – Covering assessment of connected medical devices, semi-automated risk management, and anomaly detection—areas closely aligned with ENTRUST’s research objectives.
ENTRUST was delighted to participate in this joint effort and to engage with stakeholders in Oslo for a valuable and timely discussion on cyber risk management in healthcare.
